PROJECT: HARI- PARSAD

Eastern Mosaic

Location : Dainfern Valley Estate, Dainfern

The brief for this exotic garden was to capture the magical Eastern influence, that is apparent in this modern Balinese Style home. The landscaping experts from Engender created this decisively contemporary garden with a tropical, oriental feel to perfectly fuse with the modern look of this home.

Upon entry to the abode from the outside garden, one walks down a fully decked staircase towards the front door. The entrance Courtyard boasts two ‘mirror-image’ waterfeatures, flanking the staircase. These elaborate features is characterised by ‘bubbling’ custom –made pots in the top ponds,  from where water cascades down ‘mosaiced stone’ sheets, into a large bottom pond, connecting these features. These waterfeatures add a tranquil ambiance and a sense of magical mysticism to this tropical environment.

A glass bridge form a vital link between home and garden, introducing an ultra modern element to the design. Stone carved Buddha figures on elevated ‘floating platforms’  keep a watchful eye onto the landscape below.

Two matching extra –large Sandstone finished pots mark the transition between the two outdoor spaces, also framing the entrance to these spaces. Wooden deck walkways provide dual access from two parking areas.

To create privacy and a sense of height, tall palms and bamboo were used. Mass tropical style underplanting further continues the lush theme.
